On Monday, December 14, 2007, there was a suicide bomb attack in the Serena Hotel in Kabul, Afganistan. The Serena hotel is the most popular hotel for foreign guests. The Taleban was charged with the attacks, this, the latest of their attacks, but in December of 2007, there was two more attacks, a suicide bombing and a rocket attack, leaving a total of 18 people dead. The Taleban was the government on Afganistan from the mid- 1980’s until 2001 when they were “toppled” by United States forces.
The dead include the attackers, a Norwegian journalist, many hotel staff, and at least one US citizen. One attacker was shot by a guard, one died in the bombing, and one was arrested right after the beginning of the attack.
