According to Hindustan Times, rape is India's #1 fastest growing crime. Government reports show that even sexual crimes against tourist are pouring in from across India. The latest results show that every hour 18 women become victims of sexual crime. The number of rapes a day has incresed 700% since the early 1970s' Among the states, Andhra Pradesh had the highest number of crimes committed against women — 21,484 cases or 13 per cent of the total cases in 2006.
