Peter Hain resigned early this week after an issue with his campaign funding. He sais he had “no other choice” after a complaint about his failed bid to become the Labor Partys leader last year was referred to police. James Purnell is Britain’s secretary of culture and sport, he will also be succeeding Hain. Purnell, 37, is a high –flyer in the government and one of the youngest secretaries to ever serve in the Brown’s cabinet. He will not be succeeding Hain as secretary of state for Whales, Hain will be appoint that position later reported Reuters UK.Peter Hain resigning represents the first loss in Prime Minister Gordon Browns’ cabinet since he taking that office. Peter Hain will announce later this week who will take his position as secretary of state.
